Well kiddies cats and kittens-- I rolled the FLEAbay dice-- and got what -- was an interesting opening this morning--

I found an OSCAR SCHMIDT OE30 for 132.00 FREE freights--"listed as a brand new return item" and stated they "didnt KNOW why it was returned " --- well took me 2 seconds to know why

IF you look in the pic at the High E and B string saddles they are SMASHED and twisted......

ALso the chunk of wood beside the bridge pickup------ WAS FLOATING AROUND LOOSE IN THE GUITAR HOLLOW BODY PORTION ------- wow---

took me FOREVER to FISH it out!

that said --- it "sets up o.k. intonates (how I have NO IDEA) and is a good bit of Kit -- with new D'addarios and a NUBONE nut!

tulip tuners-----and decent pickups---

frets need a bit of polish--- fretboard NEEDS some lube/oil (dry as a NUBONE --get it) and I have a spare bridge about -- so it will all get "righted" and for 132.00 to the door it makes LOVELY 335 sounds ;)
and 132.00 is --- well-- STUPID cheap!

I think I have an extra large pin bridge...might be gold...???

Thanks robert I have a couple here -- Johnny Goo sent me a box of odds and ends not to long ago--- and I have a bin full of stuff from builds or hacks-- or who knows--- swpas -- things-- I got it covered

I'm happy that your happy eSGEe!! but I have to tell you, I wouldn't be after they told you they didn 't see anything wrong with the guitar, I wouldn't accept it not even for $132 smackers.

IT was a "gamble" Session-- it is part of the "flipper" lifestyle---

now I can slap a random bridge on it-- tweak the neck polish and set it up to play wonderfully-----and sell it for 200.00 ;)
or trade it off for an amp--- or other guitar thats in the same "value" level----200-250.00--- but I only have some time ---effort and 132.00 "in"

I tend to look at things/gear a tad different--- for instance that was how I got the Godin bass so cheap---it had an "issue" with the tone pot----

I purchased a 500.00 Peavey Grind Bass -- "new" factory return --because the guy thought the neck was twisted----- it wasnt it just needed set up right---and a proper cut nut-- got that for 150.00can easily flip it tomorrow for 3 bills------------

AH the flipper life ---

the gamble being it could have been UN salvageable--- or complete CRAP----- but -- most things I -- or the "collective" here ---can guide to fix/repair/replace/improve--- so its a very "calculated risk" --- and its not a ton of money---
I wouldnt do that with say a 1800.00 Gibson or something!

Follow up---

some fret ends (4) really needed work but most are o.k.

all the tuner were lose------the bridge was crap twisted bent--- replacing it now --
frets fixed FB oiled-----loading it with 10's

I have some Humbucker sized P90's I am going to drop in when they get here------they are a "test" set from Wilkinson ;)

Nice!

Oscar Schmidt is the budget Washburn line.

So...you know what that means?

You’ve ventured into the land of Washburn...

Yay!

You’ll like it here. There are wide open spaces and pretty much no corks to sniff.

Well ya -- see-- Chili-- there is the "guy" who has a VAN out behind the Publix --- not far from where you got a haircut in Lakeland----he can get ANYTHING you order--------from CHINA------and he DELIVERS it --- yes its a DHL van. ;)

Im such a dick--

naw man seriosuly
aliexpress-- FAKE GIBBO Chibson--

its much hated by some -- but-- its a GREAT gutiar for 160.00 (it was 162.00 to be exact I think)

it is IDENTICAL in spoec-- weigfht -- feel and build quality to an EPIPHONE------it came WITH EPiphone branded pickups and SAME hardware that is in ANY similar year EPIPHONE-----

it has been modded and much maligned-- it was chewed on by a SQUIRREL (yes a REAL wild SQUIRREL (Howard) who the Misses was "rehabing" after he had been abandoned as a Baby..............
howard.jpg
so............there ya have it --

looks like a gibson (except the bridge which I COULD switch out but havent) to an ABR ----plays great -- sounds great -- ;low action no issues -- for all intents and purposes a completely FUNCTIONAL nice playing guitar ------for a 162.00 that makes EVERY visitor to the DOom Room take a second look ----they dont even LOOK at the Les Paul recording REAL Gibson-- and if asked they all think the FIREBIRD ZERO is the FAKE GIBSON! lol
